Home-Stays

Typical homes in the community are small and basic (but comfortable), normally consisting of two or three bedrooms, a kitchen, living room and bathroom.

Three meals a day are prepared by the host families for our volunteers, and consist of:

-Typical Costa Rican or Continental Breakfast (coffee, gallo pinto (fried rice with beans), toast, fruits, juice, or cereal upon request)
-Lunch and Dinner (rice and beans, vegetables, poultry, fish, soups, pasta, salads)

The Costa Rican diet is unique and it is understood that volunteers may eat differently in their home country. Simple requests for no meat can easily be honoured, but volunteers should not expect veggie lasagna or soymilk.
