First Leatherback Nest Hatched (A1)!

Finally our first Leatherback nest of the season hatched after 68 days of incubation in the hatchery. 53 beautiful and healthy hatchlings made it to the surface; much to the delight of our German volunteer Julia, who was able to play mid-wife.

The 18 first sons and daughters of Esperanza.

The biometrics of the hatchlings.

Julia and Karen taking the biometrics.

Maybe the one that is making it back as grown-up in about 15 years?
